Taylor Swift, Jung Kook, and Nicki Minaj Dominate MTV EMAs 2023: See Complete List of Winners

Despite the cancellation of the ceremony due to the ongoing Israel-Hamas war, the award-giving body proceeded to honor the best music of the year and the biggest artists from around the world.

Amidst the anticipation for this year’s awarding ceremony and the exciting line-up of artists who are slated to perform live in Paris for the 2023 MTV Europe Music Awards (EMAs), including BTS’ Jungkook, Anne-Marie, David Guetta, Sabrina Carpenter, Thirty Seconds to Mars, and The Kid Laroi, to name a few, Paramount Global announced last month the cancellation of the event, citing the ‘volatility of world events’ as the cause.

Originally scheduled for November 5 at the Paris Nord Villepinte, the event didn’t take place as planned due to the escalating conflict in the Middle East. As the Paramount statement reads: “Given the volatility of world events, we have decided not to move forward with the 2023 MTV EMAs out of an abundance of caution for the thousands of employees, crew members, artists, fans, and partners who travel from all corners of the world to bring the show to life.”

“The MTV EMAs are an annual celebration of global music. As we watch the devastating events in Israel and Gaza continue to unfold, this does not feel like a moment for a global celebration. With thousands of lives already lost, it is a moment of mourning. We look forward to hosting the MTV EMAs again in November 2024.”

Complete List of Winners for MTV EMAs 2023

Even though the event got canceled, the voting process went on, and on the originally scheduled day of the event, MTV revealed the complete list of winners. Among them, Taylor Swift stood out as the big winner, securing awards for Best Artist, Best Video, Best Pop, Best Live, and Best Longform Video of the Year.

Following closely behind is Nicki Minaj, who clinched the titles of Best Hip Hop Artist and Best U.S. Act Award, while BTS’ Jungkook took home the Best Song for Seven featuring Latto and the Best K-pop Artist Award. Here’s the complete list of winners for the MTV EMAs 2023.
