There’s literally no stopping Taylor Swift as she continues to make history—this time with the release of the rerecording of her 1989 album. As if dethroning The Weeknd as the most listened-to artist on Spotify was not enough, Billboard reported that the popstar’s 1989 (Taylor’s Version) now ranks as the top-selling album in America in 2023.
With streaming taking over as the primary way of consuming music, hitting one million copies sold in America has become extremely rare these days—a distinction that Taylor pulled off just five days after she dropped the rerecorded version of her 2014 smash hit album.
