Disney’s ‘Inside Out 2’ Teaser Breaks Record, Becomes Biggest Hit with Exceptional Viewership
Finally, the long wait is over. Disney and Pixar just dropped a one-minute teaser for the upcoming sequel to the hit animated film, Inside Out. Big changes are on the way, and a brand-new set of characters is already shaking things up, stirring commotion within the headquarters.
As Director Kelsey Mann puts it, “Anxiety, voiced by Maya Hawke, might be new to the crew, but she’s not really the type to take a back seat. That makes a lot of sense if you think about it in terms of what goes on inside our minds.”
In the trailer, Riley’s now 13, and her emotions are all over the place. Inside her head, the crew shows up to upgrade the console. Surprise! It turns orange—and Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust get introduced into a new emotion, Anxiety. “Hi, I’m Anxiety. Where can I put my stuff? I’m sorry ‘we’ wanna make such a good impression.”
And guess what? People can’t seem to get enough of the relatability of Anxiety that the trailer has earned 157 million views in just 24 hours, unseating the previous record of Frozen 2. This is by far the biggest animated trailer launch in Disney history!
In 2015, Inside Out achieved significant acclaim, earning the distinction of Best Animated Feature at the 2016 Oscars. This success has prompted the creative team, led by Chief Creative Officer of Pixar Pete Docter and sequel director Kelsey Mann, to delve deeper into the exploration of emotions that may seamlessly integrate into the narrative. Additionally, they are expanding the cinematic world to introduce new emotions, enhancing the film’s relatability for the audience.
With ‘big changes and new emotions’ to delve into, sure, Inside Out is an exciting treat to wait for as it premieres in theaters on June 14, 2024. Are you ready to get to know more about Anxiety and the ‘we’ she was talking about?
