Sweet-tooths, rejoice! If you’re in need of a little sugary pick-me-up, here’s some delicious news: the iconic Dutch patisserie and chocolatier is opening its first store in Singapore this October. This marks the brand’s third step into Asia, following its international debut in Jakarta in 1997 and now two thriving standalone outlets there.
Facing Seah Street, right on the ground level of Raffles Singapore, the new concept store is designed as a refined tea room and lounge bar, featuring 42 seats, marble tables, and plush velvet chairs—a perfect spot to enjoy all-day delights. Expect signature creations like their famous Champagne Cake, a luscious sponge cake layered with white chocolate, Moët & Chandon champagne cream, almond marzipan, and a delicate dark chocolate shell. And don’t miss their 28 flavors of bouchées, including unique combinations like hazelnut butterscotch and white chocolate with limoncello, too!
Founded in 1922 in Noordwijk, Huize van Wely’s reputation has soared beyond its Dutch roots. Led by award-winning director Joost Rotteveel and chief pastry chef Robin Hoedjes, who have both claimed prestigious pastry accolades, the Singapore store will serve more than just artisanal pastries. Look forward to an enticing menu of ice creams, fine wines, champagne, and craft cocktails—a perfect way to sweeten up your day or end it on a high note.
While the exact opening date is still under wraps, one thing is certain: Singapore’s dessert scene is about to get a lot more exciting. Stay tuned for more updates and prepare to indulge in some of the finest Dutch treats!
