K-pop sensation BTS ended their four sold-out concerts in Las Vegas with a surprising teaser of their upcoming album release this June.
Before wrapping up the four-night ‘Permission to Dance on Stage’ concert of South Korea’s blockbuster hit band BTS, the renowned K-pop group unveiled a video teaser with clips of members RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook in a statement saying “We Are Bulletproof.” The fifty-second video clip montages BTS’ past videos before the screen went dark and was replaced by the ‘2022.06.10’ date.
Along with the video, Big Hit Music posted an official statement on BTS’s fan community in Weverse that the group would be returning with a new album this June 10, 2022. It reads: “Hello. This is Big Hit Music. BTS will be back with another album on June 10, 2022. Details of the new album will be provided in a separate notice at a later date. We look forward to your love and support for BTS’s new album. Thank you.”
Earlier this year, the South Korean entertainment company, Big Hit Music shared that the members have already started preparing for a new record that will ‘mark the start of a new chapter’. It can be recalled that the Army’s beloved Bangtan Boys dropped their album, BE, which introduced new songs, back in 2020.
It was then followed by the release of their two English-language singles Butter and Permission to Dance – which became part of the compilation album, ‘BTS, the Best’ unveiled in June 2021 and the EP, ‘Butter (Hotter, Sweeter, Cooler)’ that was released on the same month. A few months later, their collaboration track with the British rock band, Coldplay, also made waves all around the world.
In 2021, BTS landed three songs on top of Billboard’s Hot 100, Global, Global Excl. US, and Digital Song Sales Chart. ‘Butter’ stayed on the top spot for the longest streak and became the year’s most downloaded title. Apart from that, they have also made numerous historic feats including a slew of Guinness World Records and becoming the first South Korean act to win the American Music Award’s Artist of the Year.
Their influence did not end there. BTS also made an appearance in both the Grammy and Oscars. They made a pre-recorded appearance at the Oscars where they shared their favorite Disney and Pixar movies, like ‘Coco’ and ‘Aladdin’. The boys have also brought the Grammy’s house down with their phenomenal performance of the mega-hit ‘Butter’ – where Jungkook swooped down from the ceiling while the other members sat alongside the industry’s brightest stars, like Keith Urban and Olivia Rodrigo. The group was up for the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance Award during the ceremony.
After such an astounding – and trending – ceremony, BTS stayed in Las Vegas for their ‘Permission to Dance on Stage’ concert which was held at the Allegiant Stadium on April 8, 9, 15, and 16. The show became one of the biggest single venue concert engagements by any act in almost a decade – which sold 214,000 tickets and grossed US$33.3 million.
