Want to Make Better Connections? Check Out Tinder’s School of Swipe!

Sharing is caring!

A recent survey conducted by Tinder reveals that young people in Singapore feel awkward or hesitant about making the first move. So, here’s the first-ever crash course in online dating.

Who’s not hopeful and excited about finding the right one? Well, according to the survey, about 61% of young Singaporeans are optimistic and eager (56%) about their dating future. However, here’s the catch: around 50% of the same people shared that they feel awkward and tend to hesitate in creating new connections and making the first move. While over 75% of them feel free to be themselves and choose the person they want to connect with on a dating app, more than half of the population admits to finding it hard to start a conversation with their matches.

So, here’s Tinder to save the day.

School of Swipe™: Tinder Launches the First-ever Initiative to help Young Adults in Singapore Navigate Online Dating

The world’s most popular app for meeting new people is rolling out its first-ever crash course in online dating. School of Swipe was created to cater to the needs of young and single adults who are trying to navigate their way toward modern-day dating. This is the first-of-its-kind initiative taken by an app on a global scale: to guide users on the online-to-offline dating journey.

The School of Swipe is a long-term initiative by Tinder to help Singapore singletons build their confidence as they make new connections. Those who are new to online dating can get a lot of helpful tips that they can apply to practice at Tinder Mixers – a series of in-person events that will be held in the coming months.

Exciting, right? Debunking social structures and misconceptions, The School of Swipe aims to become an easily accessible mobile-first wingmate that can provide how-to tips presented in a vibrant and informative way. This focuses on common challenges shared amongst Singaporean daters.

Tinder initiated this program to inspire and ignite fun and safety in every dating experience for every young single looking to meet someone new. School of Swipe’s how-to guides start from setting up a profile to setting up for the first date. This would surely help those who want to learn how to rock a good conversation, make a real-life connection, and safely explore potential connections on Tinder for every mood and activity.

As per Papri Dev, Apac Communications Lead at Tinder: “We’ve learned through the study and from our conversations with young people that when they are faced with dating questions, they are not quite sure where to go or who to speak to. And that’s where Tinder, the world’s largest dating app, comes in. With our newly launched School of Swipe™, an easy-to-navigate online guide for singletons to use anytime anywhere, we want to help young adult singles feel more confident in their dating journeys. School of Swipe™ is an all-in-one guide for daters looking to make the most of the matching experience whilst also staying alert, both online and offline. The resource complements Tinder’s continuous in-app feature innovations and tutorials to make dating fun and safe for all young singles eager to connect with someone new.”

For the past years, Tinder has been continuously enriching its portfolio of features, allowing members to explore new and interactive ways to enjoy the dating journey in-app. Last September, it launched Explore, a newly-created hub within the app that allows daters to choose between going to a bar, café, or even the dog park to meet someone new. This also gave members the option to view profiles arranged by interest, with an evolving list of shared social experiences, including Blind Date, Vibes, and Swipe Night.

To make it even more immersive, the space also hosted Music Mode, which allowed Tinder members to vibe out to their potential matches’ favorite songs, allowing them to have common ground for a chat conversation. Ever since its creation of the Swipe feature, Tinder remains true to its premise of mutual consent to create a safer, more respectful, and positive online dating experience for all of its members. In fact, the app has recently launched a dedicated in-app Safety Center in Singapore that offers safety features, providing members with more confidence and control over their dating journey.
