The MTV Video Music Awards is Back—with Taylor Swift Leading the Nominations

August 8, 2024

Sharing is caring!

The Tortured Poets Department artist leads the pack with a whopping 10 nominations. Right behind her are Post Malone, Ariana Grande, Sabrina Carpenter, and Eminem.

Taylor Swift, the singer-songwriter we all can’t get enough of, dominates the 2024 MTV VMAs just like she did last year. Miss Americana is up for major awards like Video of the Year, Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Pop.

Post Malone, riding high on his success, has also snagged nine nominations. His hit collab with Morgan Wallen, I Had Some Help, is up for Best Collaboration. Meanwhile, Sabrina Carpenter is making her VMA debut with six nominations, joining the ranks of Ariana Grande and Eminem.

Check Out the Complete List of Nominees for the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards

This year’s VMAs are packed with fresh faces, with 29 first-time nominees, including Sabrina Carpenter, Victoria Monét, Tyla, Teddy Swims, Benson Boone, Chapell Roan, Murph, and Rauw Alejandro.

If Taylor Swift takes home the Video of the Year award—beating out Billie Eilish’s Lunch, Ariana Grande’s We Can’t Be Friends, Eminem’s Houdini, Doja Cat’s Paint the Town Red, and SZA’s Snooze—it will be her fifth win in this category!

Fan voting is already open on the official website of MTV and will run until August 30. You can vote for Best New Artist right up until the show airs on September 10, live from the UBS Arena near New York City.
