Strap in and get transported 400 kilometers above Earth with this epic 360° virtual reality space adventure.
Space exploration is a dream for so many of us. Whether it’s the curiosity to understand the universe or the thrill of adventure, the idea of floating in space is irresistible. But let’s face it—not everyone can join NASA or drop millions on a space flight.
Thankfully, we’ve got the next best thing. Making its epic Southeast Asian debut at Science Centre Singapore, Space Explorers: THE INFINITE offers an out-of-this-world virtual experience, sparking the space dreams of everyone.
Here’s Everything You Need to Know About Space Explorers: THE INFINITE
Hailed as the world’s largest immersive space experience, Space Explorers: THE INFINITE has officially landed in Singapore as of October 12, 2024, and will run until March 23, 2025. This is its first (and probably only!) stop in Southeast Asia, so don’t miss out!
Since its launch in 2021, over 400,000 people across North America have already journeyed through this groundbreaking adventure. It takes you 400 kilometers above Earth and onto the International Space Station (ISS), all thanks to hyper-realistic VR tech inspired by NASA missions.
Here’s the exciting part: in real life, only 300 people have ever visited the ISS, but with this exhibit, you’ll experience what it’s like to live and work in space without leaving Earth. Powered by cutting-edge virtual reality, you’ll get an up-close look at the daily lives of astronauts, experience the first-ever spacewalk captured in VR, and explore a 3D model of the ISS itself. No wonder, this exhibition has won major awards, including a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Interactive Program in 2021 and the Aurea Award for Best Experience in 2022.
Now, you might think, “I’ve done VR before,†but this is next-level. You’ll get to see jaw-dropping views of Earth from orbit, hang out with astronauts in virtual encounters, and feel like you’re part of actual space missions. It’s based on over 250 hours of 3D-360° footage filmed on the ISS, 16 hours of astronaut interviews, and that epic VR spacewalk we mentioned earlier.
Pretty cool, right? No wonder audiences in the U.S. and China are still raving about it! Tickets range from $32 to $40, depending on the day, your age, and any bundles you might choose (check here for the full breakdown and to snag your tickets). Kids aged 9-12 must be accompanied by an adult, and operating hours vary—weekends, school breaks, and public holidays run from 10 AM to 8 PM, while weekdays are 10 AM to 5 PM.
The whole experience lasts about an hour, with 40 minutes in VR, so make sure to arrive early, especially during peak times. And here’s an extra bonus for Singapore residents: tickets also include admission to Science Centre Singapore!
Whether you’re a space geek or just someone curious about the wonders of the cosmos, Space Explorers: THE INFINITE is a must-visit. It’s not every day you get to experience space up close, so book ahead and make it a fun day out with family or friends. You’ll even get to do a spacewalk—minus the cosmic radiation and meteoroids flying at the speed of sound.Space Explorers: THE INFINITE in Singapore is definitely the coolest way to explore infinity and beyond!
