Song Kang is Back with a Haunting Teaser for ‘Sweet Home’ Season 2

Sharing is caring!

The popular post-apocalyptic K-drama will exclusively premiere on Netflix on December 1.

If you were left on the edge of your seat as mysteries deepened in Sweet Home when it first premiered in December 2020, you’re undoubtedly itching to uncover the fate of Cha Hyu-su after the harrowing events that happened at the Green Home apartment building. Well, the wait is over as Netflix has unleashed a heart-pounding, one-minute teaser for the sequel to this gripping post-apocalyptic series, led by Song Kang.

On the first day of November, Netflix released the “date announcement” of the hit webtoon series that was adapted into live-action. Here we see a glimpse of Cha Hyun-su being brought to a mysterious facility to undergo an experiment.

Everything We Know So Far About ‘Sweet Home’ 2

In the statement released by director Lee Eung-bok, the new season is said to go full-swing with its apocalyptic genre. “While Season 1 portrayed tension and fear in the confined space of the Green Home, Season 2 will be set in an open space with the introduction of a whole new group of characters and monsters.”

Alongside Song Kang, Lee Jin-wook (Pyeon Sang-wok), Go Min-si (Lee Eun-yoo), and Park Gyu-young (Yoon Ji-soo) are returning for the second season. As the world of the characters expands upon leaving Green Home, much is expected to happen as new members are also joining the cast, including Jung Jin-young, Yoo Oh-seong, Oh Jung-se, and Kim Moo-yeol.

Actress Lee Si-young shared that everyone went through major changes in the upcoming season, as evident in Song Kang’s appearance in the video teaser. Chained and blood-soaked, Song Kang is taken out of a cage, and in an isolated room, a voice from above says, “We meet at last. Cha Hyun-su, are you the savior who can end all this?”

While there’s no official word on the release format, it’s highly likely that, similar to the first season: all episodes will be dropped at once. Based on the webtoon of the same name by Kim Carnby and Hwang Young-chan, Sweet Home became such an instant hit in 2020 that Netflix confirmed its renewal for two more seasons, and the third is already under production.

With a mission to protect himself and the people and to hold onto their humanity, the journey ahead promises even darker twists, heart-stopping suspense, and bone-chilling horrors. Brace yourself for a relentless battle for survival in Sweet Home Season 2!
