The world’s leading sports footwear and apparel manufacturer drops the newest ‘Moon Daze’ pack and MADE in USA Grey Day Collection.
New Balance is celebrating “Grey Day†this May 12—a day particularly dedicated to honoring both the new and classic interpretations of the brand’s legacy in the color grey. In the late 1970s, grey emerged as a solution for urban runners whose white shoes were ruined by the city’s conditions.
With grey’s durable suede, it did not only match the color of asphalt, but it also seamlessly blended with people’s everyday lives. Since then, countless iterations of grey products have been introduced, but the connection between the color and New Balance remains steadfast: the ultimate color of durability and versatility.
New Balance Releases Exclusive New Products for ‘Grey Day’
In the words of New Balance Chief Marketing Officer and Senior Vice President Chris Davis: “To New Balance, the color grey represents a history of innovation and serves as a global symbol for style—it is emblematic of our unique path forward. Grey Day is a movement for the brand to declare our unwavering position at the intersection of performance and style, and celebrate the design innovation that continues to propel us into the future.â€
As a tribute to Grey Day, New Balance will release several exclusive new products, including the bespoke “Moon Daze†capsule. This collection will include versions of three classic New Balance silhouettes: the 550, 580, and 9060. Inspired by the future and prompting people to think further beyond the world, Moon Daze raises the existential question: “What would shoes look like after walking on another planet?â€
On the other hand, the second drop of the brand is the MADE in USA capsule, which consists of outfits 990v4, 990v6, and 998—all in grey hues. This premium collection is presented in limited portions, with stocks for U990TA4 made available on May 12 and the rest in June.
The Grey Day collections will also be made available on NewBalance.com starting May 12, with product prices ranging from $179 to $239 for the inline footwear collection and $379 to $399 for the MADE in USA collection. Aside from New Balance 1906 stores, you can also get a hold of these products at Limited Edt, Foot Locker, and JD Sports online.
