This is not a drill. Yes, GastroBeats comes back to Singapore this June 2022 with much livelier performances, a wider array of dining options, and more interactive activities.
The year 2022 is indeed a year to celebrate. With borders lifted and health restrictions slowly eased, lifestyle activities like festivals are finally coming back. This June 3 to 26, GastroBeats returns to the Bayfront Event Space after a four-year hiatus. By far, this is the largest festival to be made open to the public since the pandemic.
True to its moniker as the ‘food and nutrition hub of Southeast Asia’, Singapore’s GastroBeats is slated to bring dishes from hawker businesses, food purveyors, and celebrity chefs, with cocktails coming from Singapore’s top bartenders. Held at the 14,200 square meters urban lifestyle playground of Singapore, the festival offers more than twenty food and beverage stalls and forty retail brands on the Local Streets.
What to Expect with Gastrobeats Singapore 2022
Spearheaded by 04 Company, in collaboration with HydeNSeek Entertainment, the first three weeks of June in Singapore will be filled with food, live performances, and fun activities. GastroBeats will be bringing a variety of local and international dishes – some are even particularly created for this event. The local flavors of Tiao Man, Kueh Ho Jiak, Ah Lim Nasi Lemak, Haig Road Putu Piring, as well as Halal-certified Rancho Meats and Big Boy Franks, The Vegetarian Butchers, An Acai Affair, and The Swag Social will be participating as well.
International chefs and personalities from the Masterchef TV series are set to be present during the GastroBeats, preparing exclusive menus for the festival. Sarah Todd of Masterchef Australia together with Masterchef Australia Seasons 1 – 10 judge George Calombaris, Masterchef Singapore Season 2 winner Derek Cheong, and Season 1 runner-up Genevieve Lee will be gracing the event each week to showcase different collaborated menus.
Those who are into social drinking will surely enjoy the cocktails served by Peter Chua – Junior the Pocket Bar co-owner and finalist of multiple international cocktail competitions. He has prepared a special cocktail for this special event that would perfectly match Chef Todd’s menu. In addition, booze will also be made available care of Johnnie Walker, Crust beer, Tanqueray gin, Sachi soy wine, and many others; hence, brace yourself for such an elevated food experience!
But, There’s More!
Aside from the delectable dishes to look forward to, there are actually other zones to explore in the much-awaited GastroBeats: Arts Zone Graffiti, Local Streets, Jumptopia, and of course, the Culinary Masters. To boost appetite, live music brought by the best local musicians and talents will serenade the festival attendees.
Of course, the young ones can also participate in the activities during the festival. GastroBeats will be setting up eight gigantic food-themed inflatables designed as a taco truck, burger joint, noodle bar, patisserie, and so on. Both kids and adults can jump to their heart’s desire and make the most of the activity.
Retail stalls, fashion, and sustainable products will also be sold there. A graffiti battle is also being organized by local collective, Graffight. Battles will be staged every Sunday, allowing goers to get entertained and learn more about style, technical details, and artistic creativity that goes with street art.
After years of being socially distanced from each other, GastroBeats reminds us that it’s always great to gather and make memories together. And time is better spent when accompanied by great dining options. Enjoy these delectable treats and get acquainted with the geniuses of different fields in this upcoming lifestyle festival.
