A Visual Celebration of Culture and Connection
Coldplay has once again redefined storytelling through music with the release of their latest music video, Man in The Moon, from the Moon Music (Full Moon Edition) album. More than just a visual spectacle, the video serves as a love letter to Singapore, blending the city’s breathtaking skyline with its vibrant cultural diversity.
Directed by Ben Mor—who also helmed Coldplay’s Hymn for the Weekend—the video immerses viewers in Singapore’s unique energy, featuring a mix of well-known landmarks and hidden gems. From the dazzling Marina Bay to the historic Fort Canning Park, the video captures the city’s dynamic spirit. Coldplay frontman Chris Martin shares, “While we were in Singapore, we shot the video and captured some of the amazing, young, vibrant people that we had met. It was really fun to have a kind of dance party out in the middle of the water, just us and the otters.”
A Stage Like No Other
The heart of the Man in The Moon video lies in its cast—real people from diverse backgrounds, embodying the song’s themes of unity and shared experiences. Cosplayers, artists, and creatives take center stage, reflecting Singapore’s rich, multicultural identity. The grand finale sees these talents joining Coldplay on a floating stage at Marina Bay, belting out the song’s powerful chorus against a breathtaking cityscape.
The video was filmed during Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres World Tour stop in Singapore, reinforcing the city’s significance to the band’s global journey. In partnership with Warner Music Singapore and the Singapore Tourism Board, the project not only highlights Singapore’s status as a world-class creative hub but also cements its place as a must-visit destination.
The release was celebrated with an exclusive Coldplay fan party at Marina Bay Sands’ SkyPark deck, where fans got the first glimpse of the video.
With its seamless blend of music, culture, and stunning visuals, Man in The Moon isn’t just a music video—it’s a cinematic tribute to a city that pulses with creativity and connection.
