The upcoming solo album has already surpassed 950,000 stock preorders—setting the highest number even before the much-anticipated release.
Slated to be released on March 31, BLACKPINK Jisoo’s debut solo album ME has already racked up over 950,000 sales just two weeks since the start of the preorder. With over 140,000 sales recorded, it made history by having the highest number of preorders in the first 24 hours of sale on Ktown4U and has now surpassed the 500,000 preorder copies record.
Just a few days before the official release of the album, Jisoo is set to become the first K-pop female solo artist to have earned the “million-seller†title. These orders came not only from South Korea but also from countries around Southeast Asia, Japan, China, Europe, and North America—proving the musician’s strong presence and influence in the global music market.
What We Know So Far About Jisoo’s Debut Solo Album ME
After years of waiting, the eldest member of BLACKPINK will be releasing her first solo album, ME, by the end of this month. It can be remembered that Jennie first launched her solo album Solo in 2018, followed by Rose’s R album in 2021, along with Lisa dropping LALISA in the same year.
The album features the title track, Flower, which has been making rounds on the internet for its enigmatic yet stunning promotional photos—exhibiting Jisoo laying against the red backdrop, clad in a black beret, with the song title written in Korean and English. In the teaser released, the singer is seen among the giant red poppies wearing a zebra print-inspired feather outfit styled with a high-fashion clip.
According to YG Entertainment, the album remains true to its name, ME, which explores themes of self-empowerment, allowing fans and music lovers to revel in Jisoo’s thoughts, feelings, and psyche. Much is expected in this album, and the forthcoming video has the highest cost among all BLACKPINK videos to date. “The music video for Jisoo’s solo song is being filmed in an overseas location in strict secrecy. You can look forward to it as we invested the largest production cost ever among Blackpink videos.â€
Have you made your preorders yet? Truly, there’s so much to look forward to in Jisoo’s upcoming album. Don’t forget, March 31 is the date.
