Paul Mescal, Barry Keoghan, Harris Dickinson, and Joseph Quinn are stepping into the legendary shoes of The Beatles, bringing the iconic band’s story to life.
The Beatles. Just hearing the name sparks instant recognition, nostalgia, and excitement. The Fab Four rose to fame in the 1960s, yet their music continues to transcend generations. It resonates just as deeply with Gen Z and Gen Alpha as it did with their parents and grandparents.
Their songs have been the soundtrack to childhood memories, love stories, and friendships that stand the test of time. In fact, their song Now and Then, released with the help of AI, debuted at Number 42 before soaring to the top of the charts—proof that Beatlemania is still very much alive. So, when acclaimed director Sam Mendes announced a biopic about the band, fans around the world instantly took notice.
What We Know So Far About the Upcoming Biopic ‘The Beatles’
Sony Pictures recently unveiled the actors stepping into the legendary roles of the young British rock icons. Paul Mescal will portray Paul McCartney, Harris Dickinson will take on the role of John Lennon, Barry Keoghan will play Ringo Starr, and Joseph Quinn will embody George Harrison.

This ambitious project stands apart from any Beatles-inspired film to date. While movies like Yesterday and Nowhere Boy have explored the band’s influence and Lennon’s early years, this is a first. It’s the only scripted film granted full life story and music rights by the band and their estates.
A Revolutionary Cinematic Approach
Mendes pushes the concept even further. He will tell the story through four separate but connected films. Each one will focus on a single band member’s perspective. With this bold cinematic approach, he hopes to give fans a deeper and more personal look at The Beatles’ rise to superstardom.
The filmmakers plan to premiere the biopic in April 2028. Mendes will direct all four films and co-produce through Neal Street Productions, alongside Pippa Harris and Julie Pastor. Apple Corps Ltd. CEO Jeff Jones also joins the project as executive producer. In a press release, Mendes shared his excitement, stating: “I’m honored to be telling the story of the greatest rock band of all time, and excited to challenge the notion of what constitutes a trip to the movies.”
Formed in Liverpool in 1960, The Beatles became the best-selling music act in history, with over 600 million records sold worldwide. From Yesterday to Here Comes the Sun, Let It Be to Hey Jude—their music continues to define generations and shape the history of sound.
Expectations are already sky-high. And as 2028 gets closer, the anticipation for The Beatles Biopic will only grow. Until then, let’s press play and let their timeless music carry us away.
