The power combo reprises the hit 2016 song—currently at No.7 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Who would have thought that a seven-year-old tune would breathe new life into the charts? Before February ended, The Weeknd released the remix of Die For You with the American pop star Ariana Grande.
Ariana, who was on break from filming the upcoming movie Wicked, returned with a new collaboration for the hit single coming from the third studio album of The Weeknd titled Starboy. This is the fourth time that the two have collaborated on a song. Remember that they first worked on Ariana’s Love Me Harder in 2014, then Off the Table in 2020 then the remix single Save Your Tears in (2021).
While rumors have circulated about Ariana giving up her singing career to focus on acting, the American singer-songwriter clarified that she has not released new music because of her busy schedule. “I am literally on set filming two musical movies all day every day.”

Die For You, which is now available on all streaming platforms, showcases Ariana’s vocals adding more flavors to the already beautifully arranged chorus. She then proceeds with her new verse resulting in a more heartfelt delivery of the emotions encapsulated in the song.
As if going viral on TikTok last year was not enough, the duo took Die For You to a whole new different level—with Arianna adding harmonies and vocal runs across the entire track. In an interview, The Weeknd has always been highly praised for Ariana’s singing prowess, even openly sharing it on Twitter: “I’ve seen Ariana work in real-time. That woman is a BEAST on pro tools.”
Last Friday, the two announced the release of the new remix on their respective social media accounts. Die For You is now on the seventh spot on Billboard Hot 100, as of this writing, while it slams on the fifth spot for the U.K. chart.
