‘Emilia Pérez,’ ‘The Brutalist,’ and ‘Wicked’ Lead 2025 Oscar Nominations

January 27, 2025

Sharing is caring!

Nicole Kidman, Pamela Anderson, Angelina Jolie, Margaret Qualley, Selena Gomez, and more missed out on key acting nominations this year.

After all the buzz and predictions, the nominees for the 97th Academy Awards were officially revealed Thursday morning—and Emilia Pérez is leading the pack with a whopping 13 nominations. Making major history, Karla Sofía Gascón, who plays the film’s titular role, became the first transgender woman to land an acting nomination. She’s in fierce company, joining Cynthia Erivo and Demi Moore in the category.

Following close behind are The Brutalist, an epic period drama, and Wicked, now officially the highest-grossing musical film adaptation of all time. Earlier this month, Emilia Pérez already scooped up four Golden Globes, including Best Motion Picture–Musical or Comedy, while The Brutalist snagged Best Motion Picture–Drama.

Here’s the Complete List of Nominees for the Oscars 2025

While the Oscars luncheon has been canceled, the main event is still on for March 2 at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. So, who’s taking home the Oscar gold? Will the Academy’s picks match the Golden Globes wins, or are we in for some surprises?

Get ready to cast your predictions—here’s the complete list of nominees for the 2025 Oscars:
