Sharing is caring!

Just wow. Check out some of the striking photos released by Netflix for the Marilyn Monroe biopic.

In case you missed it, Netflix has recently released new stills from Andrew Dominik’s Blonde movie which stars Ana de Armas as the phenomenal Hollywood icon Marilyn Monroe. Based on the bestselling novel authored by Joyce Carol Oates, this upcoming movie has been noted for its NC-17 rating.

Together with Ana de Armas, Bobby Cannavale, Adrien Brody, Julianne Nicholson, Xavier Samuel, and Evan Williams join the cast in reimagining the life of Marilyn Monroe—from her volatile childhood up to her rise to stardom, as well as the romantic affiliations she had. Blonde is set to premiere in competition at the Venice Film Festival.

According to Ana de Armas, Andrew’s ambitions were very clear from the start: to present a version of the iconic blonde bombshell’s life through her lens. “He wanted the world to experience what it actually felt like to not only be Marily, but also Norma Jeane. I found that to be the most daring, unapologetic, and feminist take on her story that I had ever seen,” shared by the Cuban-Spanish actress.

The Official Blonde Synopsis

In the synopsis presented by Netflix, Blonde is set to boldly reimagine the life of one of Hollywood’s most en

during icons, Marilyn Monroe. The film will cover her childhood as Norma Jeane and her life as she rises to stardom, including the many romantic entanglements she had. The movie further explores her public and private life, blurring the lines between fact and fiction.

In an interview with the American writer who wrote Blonde, she shared how impressed she was with Dominik’s screenplay. She admitted to have been very moved by how the film director and screenwriter succeeded in adapting the tight and complex structure of the novel she’d written dramatically. “I had to stop and go away for a while and come back because I was emotionally drained. I was captivated by the actors performing,” said Oates in an interview with Vanity Fair France.

After reading the book, Dominik realized something within the 1000 pages – that there is a better way of describing adult life through the lens of mistaken childhood beliefs and trauma. Hence, the movie highly emphasizes how the other characters tend to misunderstand Monroe simply because they are not inside her, the way the viewers are.
