Fresh off dropping the first look at Season 2, Netflix just confirmed the Straw Hat crew isn’t stopping anytime soon, as Season 3 is officially on the way.
The seas just got a little wilder. During the annual One Piece Day celebration in Tokyo, Netflix dropped a double bombshell for fans. We got our first look at the highly anticipated second season of the live-action adaptation of Eiichiro Oda’s renowned manga series. The streamer also confirmed that a third season is officially happening.
Production will kick off later this year in Cape Town, South Africa. Ian Stokes is joining Joe Tracz as a new co-showrunner, writer, and executive producer. Season 2 is slated to hit our screens in 2026. The Straw Hats still have plenty of adventures ahead.
And the Journey Continues: The Grand Line Awaits in Season 2
Before the crew reaches Season 3, all eyes are on what’s to come in the second season. The newly released teaser shows the Straw Hat Pirates setting their course for the Grand Line. It is a treacherous stretch of ocean where danger and wonder live side by side. The official synopsis promises fiercer enemies, stranger islands, and a peril that only a crew with unshakable loyalty can survive.
This season will dive into the beloved Alabasta arc. Fans can look forward to seeing Iñaki Godoy’s ever-energetic Monkey D. Luffy leading his crew—Roronoa Zoro (Mackenyu), Nami (Emily Rudd), Usopp (Jacob Romero), and Sanji (Taz Skylar)—into brand new waters. Along the way, they’ll meet the friendly giant Brogy (Brendan Murray) and cross paths with Princess Vivi, played by Charithra Chandran of Bridgerton.
Two highly anticipated debuts will make waves this season. Tony Tony Chopper will join the live-action world. He’s a reindeer-boy hybrid with a heart as big as his hat. We’ll also see Nico Robin for the first time, portrayed by Lera Abova. She will appear as an antagonist alongside the cunning Crocodile, or Mr. 0, played by Joe Manganiello. Other notable cast additions include David Dastmalchian as Mr. 3, Katey Sagal as Dr. Kureha, and Sendhil Ramamurthy as Nefertari Cobra.
