The American fast-food giant is investing $75 million in its Asian expansion and offers Singaporeans a chance to join its franchise.
If you’re one of those people who have lined up for the Chick-fil-A pop-up at the Esplanade last June, here’s some good news for you: you’ll soon be able to enjoy their famous chicken sandwiches and waffle fries year-round. The beloved American fast-food chain is set to open its first permanent location in Singapore in 2025, marking its debut in Asia.
You’ve read it right. Chick-fil-A is officially making its way to Singapore, and the company has already started accepting expressions of interest from those eager to become franchise owner-operators in the country.
What to Expect from Chick-fil-A’s Singapore Launch
Known for its diverse and vibrant food scene, Singapore will soon add another major player to its fast-food landscape. Chick-fil-A plans to open its first store in late 2025, serving up its signature crispy, hand-breaded chicken. The brand, known for its original chicken sandwich, aims to make a big splash in the region with a US$75 million investment over the next decade.
According to Anita Costello, Chick-fil-A’s Chief International Officer, Singapore is the perfect location for the company’s Asian expansion: “The profound love that Singaporeans have for food as well as the city’s strategic position as a gateway to the Asian market make it the ideal choice for Chick-fil-A’s first permanent restaurant in the region.”
Chick-fil-A has already made strides in its international expansion, having found success in the United Kingdom. Its plans for growth span across Europe and Asia, to open five new international markets by 2030.
Back in June, Chick-fil-A gave Singaporeans a taste of what’s to come with a three-day pop-up event at the Esplanade, where more than 1,000 original chicken sandwiches were sold. The event not only introduced the brand but also helped the company gauge consumer preferences in the region. “We are grateful for the overwhelming support and positive response from Singaporeans so far, and we look forward to serving them in 2025.”
Chick-fil-A’s Singapore branch will follow the company’s unique franchise model, which is different from many fast-food chains. Rather than being a passive investor, franchisees are empowered to be hands-on, local owner-operators. Of the 3,000+ Chick-fil-A restaurants worldwide, most are owned and operated by individuals who take an active role in their business.
And, as part of Chick-fil-A’s community-driven ethos, the Singapore location will also participate in the Shared Table food donation program, which has provided over 30 million meals to people in need since its launch in 2012.
Hugh Park, Head of Asia Pacific Operations for Chick-fil-A, expressed excitement about the upcoming Singapore opening: “We are thrilled to introduce Chick-fil-A to Singapore, bringing new jobs and opportunities as we support the local community. Serving our guests with high-quality food and signature hospitality remains our top priority as we do so. Our unique approach, with locally owned and operated restaurants, will also allow us to better connect with people in Singapore as we provide an authentic Chick-fil-A experience.”
If you’ve ever dreamed of running your own business, Chick-fil-A’s unique franchise model might be worth exploring. The company is actively seeking potential franchisees in Singapore, offering a chance to join one of the fastest-growing fast-food chains in the world. With the company working with you hand in hand, it presents a unique opportunity for local entrepreneurs to shape a business, build a culture, and contribute to their community.
Excitement is building as Chick-fil-A prepares to open in Singapore. From their iconic deep-fried, breaded chicken breast served on a toasted bun with two slices of dill pickle to their waffle fries and advocacy as a brand, Chick-fil-A is set to become a favorite among Singaporeans. Whether you’re looking forward to becoming a franchise owner or just can’t wait to take another bite of that delicious chicken sandwich, 2025 is definitely going to be a tasty year.
