Marking a decade since her debut album’s release in 2013, Ariana Grande goes all out and surprises her fans with an exciting weeklong celebration. The lineup of activities shines a spotlight on the release of the deluxe edition of Yours Truly, which includes new live recordings of selected tracks.
For quite some time, Ariana remained quiet on social media as she went about the preparations for the Hollywood adaptation of the musical Wicked, where she plays Glenda the Good Witch. However, on TikTok over the weekend, Ariana thanked her fans for their support all through the ten spectacular years she had. This then led to a Q&A, where she answered random questions placed into a fishbowl that were initially submitted on social media.
The Grammy-winning singer also penned on Instagram: “Happy ten-year anniversary to a project that changed my life. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for listening and for growing with me every step of the way. Love you always. :)†alongside a teaser video clip of the new live recording of Honeymoon Avenue.
Ariana Grande Prepares a Special Program For the 10th Anniversary of ‘Yours Truly’
As a tribute to her late ex, Mac Miller, Ariana included a new live version of The Way, which was her first collaboration with the rapper, who also co-starred in the music video. The new version of the song—an orchestral string section—comes over Miller’s second rap verse instead of the original instrumental.
The rapper’s sweater, along with a subtle hint of his smile, can also be seen in the upper-left corner of the new album cover. Ariana recalls recording The Way as the most fun to record, as they didn’t have any budget at that time, so they had to do it by themselves.
Aside from The Way, Yours Truly (Tenth Anniversary Edition) also comes with freshly recorded live versions of Daydreamin’, Baby I, Tattooed Heart, and Right There featuring Big Sean. This expanded edition introduces fresh riffs, beats, and captivating moments, providing diehard Arianators with an enhanced listening experience.
In the concluding part of the album’s 10th anniversary special, Ariana is scheduled to perform live the hit track The Way on August 30.
