It’s like returning to the scene of the crime. And she knows where the bodies are buried—or does she?
A storm is brewing at Nevermore Academy—and at the eye of it stands Wednesday Addams, clad in black, eyes sharp as daggers, and soul even darker. Yes, she’s back. And this time, she’s brought someone with her.
The macabre magic of Wednesday Season 2 returns in two sinister waves. Part 1 arrives August 6. Part 2 follows on September 3. Just enough time for the chaos to simmer… then boil over.

Jenna Ortega slips effortlessly back into her iconic role. She brings Wednesday’s piercing glare, biting wit, and love for all things grotesque. This season, she returns to Nevermore not just as a student—but as a storm.
She’s ready for whatever new nightmares come knocking. Armed with brass knuckles, a cattle prod, an impressive stash of sharp objects—and, of course, Thing—her disembodied sidekick.
And she’s not alone.
Pugsley Addams (played by Isaac Ordonez) now joins the cast. Little brother, yes—but don’t let the baby face fool you. He’s Addams to the core, and mischief might just run in the family bloodstream. Add to that the returning Morticia (Catherine Zeta-Jones) and Gomez (Luis Guzmán), and you’ve got the whole spine-chilling squad back in business.
The shadows deepen this season with the introduction of strange new faces and darker secrets. Steve Buscemi steps into the eerie halls as Nevermore’s new principal, Barry Dort, while Joanna Lumley takes on the role of Hester Frump—Morticia’s cryptic mother and, unsurprisingly, Wednesday’s closest confidante. The family tree just got even more twisted. Obviously.
As co-creator Miles Millar warned via Tudum, “Nothing is what it seems in Season 2. Wednesday goes into this season thinking she knows Nevermore. It’s the first time she’s returned to a school willingly. But as soon as she gets back, nothing happens that she’s expecting. She thinks she’s going to be in control, that she knows where all the bodies are buried, and she doesn’t.”
Intrigued? So are we.
If the first season captured the dark hearts of millions—becoming Netflix’s most-watched English-language series ever (of course, Squid Game remains the biggest for international)—Season 2 aims to up the ante. More monsters, more mystery, more mind games. And maybe… more dancing?
Wednesday Returns to Haunt and Slay
In the words of Jenna Ortega: “Wednesday Addams is one of the coolest characters of all time, so to have gotten the opportunity to play her once was incredible, and then to be able to slip into the costume and tone again, it’s so much fun. She runs circles around everyone that she has a conversation with, so to play someone who’s so much more intelligent than you will ever be, it’s quite funny and strange and enjoyable.”
Jenna Ortega teased a few surprises of her own during her recent Late Show appearance—cryptically hinting at a possible Lady Gaga cameo. Could Wednesday be returning to the dance floor? What kind of ‘mayhem’ would there be? Or will she be too busy unearthing the bodies—literally and figuratively?
Mark your calendars, lock your doors, and maybe light a few black candles for good measure. Wednesday is coming back, and she’s bringing a whole new kind of haunting plans with her. For now, Season 1 is still streaming on Netflix if you need a refresher or a reminder of just how spooky and sharp Nevermore can be.
