BTS’ Jin Collabs with ONE OK ROCK’s Taka for a Fresh Take on ‘Falling’

November 27, 2024

Sharing is caring!

The ONE OK ROCK vocalist brings his powerhouse vocals to a new version of Jin’s emotional track Falling, a song he originally helped create for Jin’s solo debut album Happy.

After charming us with the extended version of Super Tuna, Jin proves once again he’s full of surprises—showing he can take his music to the next level.

If you haven’t heard it yet, Jin just dropped the ultimate Thanksgiving gift for ARMY: a revamped version of his heartfelt solo track Falling, featuring none other than Taka, the lead vocalist of Japanese rock band ONE OK ROCK. Yep, this is definitely the collab we didn’t see coming but are totally obsessed with this holiday season.

Listen: Jin Drops New Version of ‘Falling’

Earlier this month, Jin released his debut solo album, Happy, packed with six emotional tracks that explore his journey toward finding joy and meaning. Among the standout tracks was Falling, a deeply heartfelt B-side co-produced and co-written with ONE OK ROCK’s Taka and Toru.

But just when we thought we’d heard it all, BIGHIT MUSIC surprised fans with an announcement that a new version of Falling was on its way—this time, featuring Taka’s unmistakably powerful voice, giving it a raw, emotional edge that hits differently.

In their official statement, BIGHIT MUSIC said:  “This song features Taka, the vocalist of the Japanese band ONE OK ROCK, who also participated in the production of the song Falling from Jin’s first solo album, Happy. With the addition of Taka’s powerful voice, the song lets you feel the emotions of love in a new, deeper way. We ask for your continued support and love for Jin and his album Happy.”

Happy was officially released on November 15, showcasing a mix of emotional ballads and uplifting tracks, including Running Happy as the title song, I’ll Be There, and Heart on the Window—a collaboration with RED VELVET’s Wendy. The album’s bright visuals and meaningful lyrics have resonated with fans, earning Jin spots on the Billboard 200 and the Artist 100 charts. He joins fellow K-pop icons ATEEZ and ENHYPEN in dominating this week’s rankings, with Jin sitting proudly at No. 2 on the Artist 100 (as of this writing).

It’s been a whirlwind year for Jin, who just returned from his military service in June and immediately jumped back into the spotlight. From representing South Korea as a torchbearer for the 2024 Paris Olympics to becoming a global ambassador for luxury brands like FRED Jewelry and Gucci, Jin has been booked and busy. He’s even set to star in a Netflix variety show, Kian’s Bizarre B&B, adding another project to his growing list of solo achievements.

As BTS continues their group hiatus, Jin’s solo work has been a comforting gift to ARMY, filling the gap with music that’s both emotional and relatable. The new version of Falling perfectly captures this spirit, blending Taka’s raw vocal energy with Jin’s heartfelt delivery.

Have you added the revamped Falling to your playlist yet? If not, what are you waiting for? It’s the perfect track to keep on replay, especially as we gear up for BTS’s eventual comeback.

Which of Jin’s solo tracks is your favorite so far?
