Sharing is caring!

Unleash your creativity with over 190 provocative and boundary-pushing pieces from the elusive street artist.

Chances are, you’ve probably come across—if not following the works of Banksy. This mysterious street artist has captivated millions with his satirical, often provocative street art that critiques politics, culture, and society. His works, like Girl with Balloon and Devolved Parliament, resonate deeply with audiences worldwide for their humor, poignancy, and sharp social commentary.

For those intrigued by his style—or fellow creatives inspired by his rebellious spirit—great news: The Art of Banksy: Without Limits is coming to Singapore this December. This highly anticipated exhibit has toured globally, attracting over 2.1 million visitors since its inception in 2016. Now, it’s bringing an interactive and immersive experience to Singapore at the Royal Plaza on Scotts.

What to Expect at ‘The Art of Banksy: Without Limits’ Exhibit in Singapore

Housed at 25 Scotts Road on the first floor of Royal Plaza on Scotts, the Singapore edition will feature over 190 of Banksy’s works, including original art, prints on various materials, sculptures, and installations. This isn’t just an art show—it’s an experiential journey through Banksy’s provocative world.

Muse Marketing & Entertainment’s managing director Kemal Gurkaynak shared, “We are beyond excited to be bringing this museum-quality experience to Singapore for the first time. We’re certain that both locals and visitors alike will relish in Banksy’s ability to provoke, shock, and even disturb society—all of which he does with great humor and poetry.”

The exhibit includes several experiential areas and video-mapping installations tailored specifically for the Singapore venue. These elements enhance the immersive quality of the experience, pulling visitors into the unique social and political issues that Banksy often explores—from climate change and social justice to political conflict.

One of the standout features of the exhibit is the specially designed entrance styled after The Walled Off Hotel, a boutique hotel Banksy opened in 2017 in Bethlehem, which offers “the worst view in the world” of the Israeli-Palestinian border wall. This entrance pays homage to one of Banksy’s most poignant projects, critiquing conflict and division in the Middle East.

Other major highlights include installations from Dismaland, Banksy’s “family theme park unsuitable for children” that challenges the glossy facade of mainstream amusement parks. You’ll also encounter iconic pieces like Flower Thrower, stenciled on a West Bank mural in 2003, and the iconic vandalized Phone Booth sculpture, which symbolizes the tension between societal evolution and the erasure of tradition.

For those seeking an even deeper dive, the exhibit includes a section dedicated to Banksy’s activism for immigrants, as well as an “infinity room” addressing global politics. There’s even a hands-on component: you can spray paint your own T-shirt with a S$2 donation to the M.V. Louise Michael organization, adding an interactive element that echoes Banksy’s spirit of activism.

The Art of Banksy: Without Limits offers a unique opportunity to engage with art for a cause. Tickets are available on the official exhibit website, priced from S$27 for adults and S$17 for children, with an estimated viewing time of 45-60 minutes.

Banksy began as a freehand graffiti artist in the early 1990s, quickly establishing his distinct style with spray paint, stencils, and bold, anti-establishment visuals. Through his work, he invites viewers to question, think critically, and even take action in their own communities.

While inspired by Banksy’s original works, it’s worth noting that The Art of Banksy: Without Limits is an independent production organized by Muse and is not affiliated with the artist himself, who has previously described similar exhibits as “unauthorized.” Nonetheless, the show has toured cities from Sydney and Berlin to Seoul and Seattle, adapting with unique installations for each location.

The Art of Banksy: Without Limits is a chance to see the world from Banksy’s unique perspective—one that’s critical, humorous, and, above all, thought-provoking. For artists, activists, and everyday people, this exhibit is a reminder of the power of art to inspire change and create awareness. Whether you’re looking to appreciate art, be inspired, or take action, this exhibition offers a memorable experience that challenges the way we see the world. Are you ready for it? Keep posted for more details!
