The phenomenal member of the groundbreaking K-pop group takes on the stage name Agust D, which he used when he released the titular mixtape in 2016.
Singapore Army, this is not a drill. Yes, Suga is finally heading to Singapore this June! Suga and Big Hit Music officially announced last Valentine’s Day that he would be embarking on his first solo concert tour.
Min Yoon-gi, who also takes the stage name Suga and the moniker Agust D as a solo artist, is slated to kick off his concert tour in the United States this April before heading to Asia from May to June. Billed under Agust D, it can be remembered that the South Korean rapper, singer-songwriter, and producer has already released two mixtapes under the same name in 2016 (Agust D) and 2020 (D-2).
As per the press release: “Suga is globally known for his record-producing ability with his own solid musical philosophy, constantly pushing the boundaries through his works on BTS albums, solo projects, and collaborations with other artists. Since BTS’ 2014 albums Skool Luv Affair, BTS’ albums include tracks produced by SUGA. Through his mixtapes under Agust D, SUGA also suggested his vision as an artist. He participated as featured artist in music by international musicians, such as Juice WRLD, Max, and So-ra Lee, and he also produced music for globally influential artists, including Halsey, PSY, Epik High, ØMI, and more.†Some of the hit singles created by Suga include People, So Far Away, and Daechwita.
Here’s What We Know So Far About Suga’s Upcoming Concerts
Suga’s concert is part of the individual projects pursued by the sensational South Korean group, as other members complete their mandatory military service. As reported, the group is scheduled to reunite in two years, in 2025.
Composed of RM, Jin, J-Hope, Jimin, V, Jungkook, and Suga, BTS has been making history across the music, fashion, and entertainment industries. Most recently, the group garnered nominations and awards at the Billboard Music Awards, MTV Video Music Awards, and American Music Awards. Their songs and albums have been hitting the top spot, including their album, Love Yourself: Tear, which became the first Korean act to top the Billboard 200 chart in 2018.
In the latest chart released by Billboard, the group’s anthology Proof (June 2022) now ranks 91st on the main album chart after staying in the number one spot for 35 consecutive weeks. Their Attack on Bullet and Yet To Come (The Most Beautiful Moment), Jin’s first solo single, The Astronaut, and Jimin’s VIBE with Taeyang also took momentous spots after entering the chart.
Suga’s Agust D Tour will start in Belmont Park this coming April 26–27. From the U.S., he will then proceed to the Asian leg of the tour, starting in Indonesia and then traveling to Bangkok, Singapore, Seoul, and Japan. Detailed schedule is as follows:
