Nominations are in! ‘A Strange Loop’ leads Broadway’s biggest awarding ceremony with 11 nods while ‘Michael Jackson’ and ‘Paradise Square’ both come in with 10 nominations. Check out the complete list here.

Yes, Tony Awards are back! Early on this week, the nominations for the 75th Annual Antoinette Perry “Tony” Awards® were announced in honor of productions from Broadway’s first full season ever since the stages darkened for a year and a half due to the COVID shutdown. Announced by Tony Award-winner Adrienne Warren and three-time Tony nominee Joshua Henry, the nominees for the 26 competitive categories were presented by The Broadway League and the American Theater Wing.

This year’s Tony Awards ceremony will commence on June 12 in Broadway’s very own hometown in New York City – as announced live on the Tony Awards YouTube channel by ‘Bring it on’ star and ‘Hamilton’ alumni last Monday, May 9. Oscar’s ‘West Side Story’ breakout star, Ariana DeBose, is set to host the said event at the Radio City Music Hall.

Sweeping the board with 11 nominations, the mind-blowing Pulitzer-winning original musical and play that retells the 2008 financial crisis – ‘A Strange Loop’ – dominates the nomination list. On the other hand, the jukebox musical, ‘MJ’ which features the best hits of the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, came with 10 nods, alongside ‘Paradise Square’.

Broadway fans are already raving as the competition gets more intense as The Music Man’s Hugh Jackson is going up against Mr. Saturday Night’s Billy Crystal for the Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical.

Here’s How to Watch the 2022 Tony Awards

This year’s Tony Awards will be televised live throughout the country on CBS from 8 pm ET. Some of the awards given to the best Broadway musical in honor of its outstanding performance in acting, writing, directing, and design will be streamed earlier on the streaming service Paramount+. As highlighted in the announcement, five Honors of Excellence in the Theater will also be awarded during the ceremony.
