SKULLPANDA is finally stepping out of its box and into a full-scale immersive art experience — and Singapore gets the world’s first international run.
Presented at the National Museum of Singapore, the SKULLPANDA CAGE-UNCAGE Showcase brings the beloved designer-toy character to life through surreal installations, interactive rooms, and an introspective journey into SKULLPANDA’s universe. The result is a cultural moment that blends contemporary art, pop culture, and emotional storytelling in a way that resonates across generations.
A First-of-Its-Kind Collaboratio
Running from 12 December 2025 to 22 February 2026, the showcase marks the first collaboration between POP MART, the Singapore Tourism Board (STB), and the National Museum of Singapore — and the first time the exhibition is leaving China after a successful debut in Shanghai.
Produced with SKULLPANDA creator Xiong Miao, the exhibition guides visitors through immersive rooms themed around universal concepts such as Emotion, Fortune, Rules, Exploration, Life, and Direction. Each space encourages reflection on the choices, pressures, and transformative moments everyone experiences.
POP MART COO Justin Moon shared, “We’re delighted to bring the showcase to Singapore… sharing the vision of SKULLPANDA not just as a beloved character, but as a vehicle for meaningful reflection on the human experience.”
Adding a local touch, the Singapore edition features an exclusive installation inspired by the nation’s bird-singing heritage — an experience you won’t find in any other country.
Where Pop Culture Meets Modern Museum Living
The showcase signals a larger cultural shift: collectible art and designer toys stepping into the world of contemporary museum experiences.
National Museum Director Chung May Khuen noted, “As the people’s museum, we are excited to host the SKULLPANDA CAGE-UNCAGE Showcase… harnessing the phenomenon’s widespread appeal to connect with diverse audiences.”
