Sharing is caring!

The Singapore Night Festival is back and brighter than ever! This year, from August 23 to September 7, the Bras Basah.Bugis precinct will be transformed into a vibrant playground of art and culture. The 15th edition of Singapore’s largest nocturnal event promises to captivate visitors with the theme “The Art of Play,” inspired by the area’s historical significance as the birthplace of Singapore’s first schools.

Experience the Magic of Play

This year’s festival invites you to rediscover the joy of play through mesmerizing projection mapping artworks and enchanting night light installations created by local and regional artists. The Art of Play theme explores childhood and nostalgia, bringing to life the unique stories and traditions of the precinct.

“Take a step back in time with this year’s Highlight Act titled, Wonder World, and bask in the old-school and retro vibes of Singapore from the 1950s to 1970s,” says the festival’s press release. Conceptualized by local artist SKL0, Wonder World is an amusement park experience that celebrates nostalgia and heritage with old-school games, retro rides, and nostalgia-themed food and drinks.

A Feast for the Senses

The Singapore Night Festival isn’t just about visual art; it’s an all-encompassing experience. Spread across numerous Festival Villages, visitors can enjoy a series of exciting programs, food and retail experiences, and eclectic performances. From jazz sessions to a xinyao singalong, the festival is set to offer something for everyone.

The blend of traditional and contemporary elements promises to create a dynamic atmosphere, making it a perfect outing for families, friends, and solo explorers alike. The festival’s press release highlights the diverse offerings: “Discover the unique stories and traditions of the precinct through the festival’s signature projection mapping artworks, night light installations, and exciting programs.”
