Unexpectedly, Taylor Swift made an appearance and bagged none other than the most coveted Artist of the Year award.
The results are in for the 2022 American Music Awards! Held live last Sunday at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, the most awaited celebration was graced by the exciting performances of Pink, Imagine Dragons, Dove Cameron, Bebe Rexha, Lil Baby, Carrie Underwood, GloRilla, and many other prominent figures in the industry.
Hosted by Wayne Brady, the American Music Awards 2022 introduced new categories, including Favorite Afrobeats Artist, K-pop Artist, Rock Song, and Rock Album, while the Favorite Touring Artist and Favorite Soundtrack made an epic comeback after having been excluded at the time of the pandemic.
Taylor Swift became the night’s biggest winner – taking home all six awards for which she was nominated. Bad Bunny, who was leading the nomination with eight nods, went home with two. For winning a total of 17 AMA trophies throughout his prestigious career, Lionel Richie was presented with the Icon Award.
