Tickets are now available for the upcoming concert of the beloved alt-pop duo, HONNE. Yes, after four years, they’re finally coming back to Singapore—as part of their MAY 2023 ASIA TOUR!
HONNE is scheduled to perform at the Star Vista Theater this coming May 18. The duo rose to fame when they were still working as music teachers in London school, back when their fans first heard their two Eps, Warm On A Cold Night and All In The Value, which both came out in quick succession in the autumn of 2014.
Let’s Get to Know the Duo Behind HONNE
Andy Clutterbuck and James Hatcher formed HONNE, a Japanese term that means “true feelingsâ€. They met on the first day at the university—and with their shared interest in music, Clutterbuck eventually took the vocals while Hatcher went on with the keyboards. The two began writing and producing their very own dreamy electronic-meets-R&B sound that gives a modern twist to their inspirations, Frank Ocean, James Blacke, Modeselektor, and Rhye.
After the successful release of their critically acclaimed LPs, Warm On A Cold Night (2016) and Love Me/ Love Me Not (2018), HONNE recently released their third studio album, Let’s Just Say The World Ended A Week From Now, What Would You Do? This comes after the surprise 14-track mixtape they released in the summer of 2020 titled no song without you.
Let’s Just Say The World Ended A Week From Now, What Would You Do? unveils a different version of HONNE. The album captures the duo in their most beautiful progression yet as songwriters, producers, and collaborators. Admittedly, they’ve shared that they’ve been limiting themselves in the past. “We might get to a section of a song and things are getting really exciting but we then pull ourselves back and say, ‘Can we really do that?’. Now, we’ve sidestepped the rules and done whatever we wanted to do.â€
Their latest album comes in a bold and ambitious theme that features Pink Sweat$ in What Would You Do? And NIKO in Coming Home. Let’s Just Say The World Ended A Week From Now, What Would You Do? brings forth everything that HONNE have worked for in pushing and pursuing the music that they want.
HONNE MAY 2023 ASIA TOUR
This May, expect classic songs from HONNE’s first two albums, including that of the nostalgic upbeat vibe of mixtape no song without you and, of course, the tracks under Let’s Just Say The World Ended A Week From Now, What Would You Do? which they have been playing in the cities that they have toured.
As HONNE puts it: “Southeast Asia is our second home. We love visiting and playing shows there so, so much. That’s why we are incredibly excited to announce our May 2023 Asia tour. Aside from Singapore, HONNE will also be performing in Taipei, Manila, Cebu, Davao, and Kuala Lumpur. For their Singapore concert, tickets are priced at $78 (excluding the $4 booking fee). Timely for Valentine’s, the local pre-sale began on February 14 and until February 16.
