That’s how Disney+’s Moving has cemented its name in this era of highly-competitive and boundary-pushing storytelling.
Released last August, the 20-episode superhero series has generated much buzz in the Asia-Pacific, including South Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, and the Philippines, with its elaborate computer-generated imagery, illustrious ensemble cast, and captivating storyline. Adapted from a popular South Korean webtoon that garnered 200 million views since its 2005 release, the live-action version has become Disney+’s and Hulu’s most-watched Korean original series.
2023 Asia Content Awards and Global OTT Winners
Marking its fifth year at the Busan International Film Festival, the Asia Content Awards and Global OTT Awards recognized the best content on TV, OTT, and online platforms across Korea and Asia. Hosted by actor Kim Kangwoo and Momoland’s Nancy, this year’s awarding ceremony was swept by Moving, with not one but six wins!
The genius behind the series, webtoon artist-turned-filmmaker Kang Full, was honored with the Best Writer and Best Visual Effects Awards. Lead actor Ryu Seung Ryong earned the title of Best Lead Actor, while his on-screen daughter, Go Youn Jung, was recognized as the Best Newcomer Actress, along with Best Newcomer Actor Lee Jung-ha.
