‘Hit Me Hard and Soft’—Billie Eilish Finally Unveils New Album

April 12, 2024

Sharing is caring!

The Oscar-winning singer-songwriter isn’t releasing any singles, as the album is meant to be listened to in its entirety.

Looks like it’s time to set aside the pondering of ‘What I Was Made For’ because Billie Eilish is about to ‘Hit Me Hard and Soft.’ Uh-huh, it’s official. The American singer-songwriter is finally releasing a new album after three long years of waiting.

Billie Eilish’s album, Hit Me Hard and Soft, is slated for release on May 17th. The announcement follows Eilish’s teasing of new music on Instagram, where she shared cryptic images and words, even hinting at the album’s title partially tattooed on the artist.

Here’s What We Know So Far About Billie Eilish’s Newest Album, ‘Hit Me Hard and Soft’

In an Instagram post, the award-winning singer-songwriter confirmed the release of her upcoming album. Expressing a mix of nerves and excitement, she revealed her decision not to release any singles, opting instead to unveil all tracks at once. “Not doing singles, I wanna give it to you all at once. Finneas and I truly could not be more proud of this album and we absolutely can’t wait for you to hear it. Love you love you love you.”

Billie Eilish’s third album comes after her 2021 album release of Happier Than Ever. On the new album cover, she’s seen underwater, barefoot, sinking under a white wooden door. “The album does exactly as the title suggests: hits you hard and soft both lyrically and sonically while bending genres and defying trends along the way. It journeys through a vast and expansive audio landscape, immersing listeners into a full spectrum of emotions.”

Back in 2023, she confirmed she was already working on new music. “There is a whole album of music coming. We’re in the final stages of making it, so that doesn’t mean it’s about to come out, but it is getting there, and it’s exciting.”

Recently, the Eilish siblings made history as the youngest two-time Oscar winners for their song What I Was Made For? from the Barbie movie. They also clinched Best Original Song at the 2024 Golden Globes and scored two wins at the 2024 Grammys. With this new album release on the horizon, anticipation is high for what they’ll accomplish next.

Get ready for May 17th, when this album lands on all digital platforms! Even better, the physical copies, including vinyl, are eco-friendly and made entirely from recyclable materials. Are you ready to get ‘hit hard and soft’?
