SCCC Launches A One-Stop CNY Online Guide Along with A Roaring Lineup Of Programmes To Celebrate The Year of the Tiger.

As part of its mission to promote and cultivate local Chinese culture, the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre (SCCC) works in collaboration with arts and cultural organizations as well as community partners.

In 2022, the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre (SCCC) will mark its fifth anniversary as an institution. Patrone by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong on May 19, 2017. The Centre’s mission is to highlight many aspects of Chinese Singaporean culture and urge Singaporeans to respect and accept the Chinese identity. SCCC has organized a year-long event to commemorate the occasion. From an interactive website to a performance featuring some of the most popular local performers.

It is a one-stop platform for Singaporeans to learn about the dos and don’ts of Chinese New Year. The all-in-one website provides information on several elements of Chinese New Year, including:

To celebrate Chinese New Year, 76-year-old calligraphy expert Yong Cheong Thye and 28-year-old designer Toby Tan, commonly known as Tobyato, worked on a new collection of distinctive red package designs. These designs, which feature digitally-stenciled tigers interacting with fu greetings written in five different calligraphy scripts, illustrate the progress of culture and the blending of traditional and modern arts.

SCCC visitors may get a complimentary set of red packets at the Singapore Chinese Culture Centre Level 1 reception till February 15, 2022, while supplies last. Each package includes five designs.

One of Us, All of Us Exhibition

One of Us, All of Us Exhibition

This exhibition, which is based on the One of Us film series, provides visitors with an understanding of the local Chinese dialect cultures. With the use of personal tales, movies, and artifacts from this special exhibition, visitors will learn about individuals who are creating waves in the world of dialect culture. Every story, from a young adult who has been performing Teochew since she was three years old to an Ang Ku Kueh brand that is putting a modern spin on a classic delicacy, offers a fresh perspective on the dialect cultures of Malaysia. This free exhibition will be displayed at the Ho Bee Concourse Level 1 of the Singapore Chinese Culture Centre from March 31, 2022, to April 30, 2022.

The exhibition Life is Sweet: Ang Ku Kueh Girl showcases the delightful antics and adventures of Ang Ku Kueh Girl. This exhibition, which is a series of illustrations written and drawn by Wang Shijia, depicts the Ang Ku Kueh Girl finding the natural source of pleasure and beauty through the events of her everyday life. The free exhibition will be on display on the SCCC’s Levels 9 and 10 until June 30, 2022.

Ang Ku Kueh Girl and Friends Sticker Pack

Every Chinese New Year, SCCC provides a collection of collectibles to its partners and the general public. A sticker pack for WhatsApp and Telegram was created to collaborate with Ang Ku Kueh Girl and Friends to make Chinese New Year greetings more accessible to a larger audience during the celebration. This one-of-a-kind greeting card set is festive and fun, and it offers individuals a new and exciting way to express their greetings to their loved ones.

Ways of Being Video

The video series focuses on ten values that many Chinese Singaporeans hold essentialSingaporeans’ way of reflecting the ever-present principles in their everyday lives. From February through November, a new episode will be released once a month, for a total of five episodes in each of the two languages (English and Mandarin).

With the celebration of the Chinese New Year, the Singapore Chinese Culture Centre promotes the importance of Singaporean and Chinese culture. Through this program, individuals will learn to appreciate each culture because of the planned engaging content. Anyone in Singapore can avail of the upcoming events and enjoy.
